  1. Curious about Xi’an Yinglan Technology Co., Ltd where I purchased a see-through N99 mask off of Facebook mask August 9th. Regret not getting the website for it.

    • There are so many Chinese companies jumping on the mask trail for a quick dollar. It’s hard to know what quality you will get. There are many reports of poor quality deliveries. More I can’t say.

  5. Hi,

This store (allstarhappy.com , or allstarhappy.myshopify.com ) is selling some products with some impossible very low prices, even the shipping is normally higher than the price, so as a Web Developer I think the “Seller” is Fishing the buyers to take the card payment data, and not using any other payment method, In addition, he is doing some good Ad Campaigns…

This product for example : https://allstarhappy.com/collections/frontpage/products/multi-functional-modern-leather-bed

is Impossible to manufacture with such a price, also impossible to even ship it.

Please look at this website and help protecting others from fraud.

  6. creape.club seems to be an obvious scam. They provide a phone number (12054947844) and when you google that phone number, it looks like there are a bunch of scam websites popping up with it. I found them through Google Product Ads for Inflatable Hot Tubs.

I think that, just like with Facebook, people assume that Google will somehow protect them.

The code for their site looks like it matches another site you posted that you said was Shopify, however, I’m not finding a smoking gun with regards to how to spot a Shopify site within the code, can you please share how you see that, or if you’re going for another factor.

They were smart with Creape as they used Cloudflare for the DNS. I turned them into Google, (for the advertising).

When you submit a site to Shopify, which category do you choose? Malicious / Deceptive seems most reasonable, until you read the description.

    Thanks for all you do!

    • I would be careful with those sort of direct from China sellers. It’s not a scam, but you have no consumer rights, like returns etc. If you get a defect item (companies do not check before sending) you are basically stuck since you can’t return thing with a lithium battery inside. Amazon has better protection.

    • It’s a scam. Their prices for large screen TVs are unrealistic. Some for MSI gaming laptops, they are expensive in China. Do not order! You will lose your money.

    • The card costs normally around US$1000, so obviously it’s a scam. They will not use Alibaba to trade and will ask you for direct payment. Better not.

    • The page does not open for me. But since the core domain, stickffrg.com , is just a bit over one month old and registered in China I would not buy anything there, the scam chance is very, very high. You can find usually the same on Amazon, much more expensive, but real & safe.

    • Store does not open for me, it is/was most likely a scam. They all look the same, harmless looking products on main page, but some hidden pages with scam products. Stay safe!

  7. I found this seller on Alibaba. Seems to have different reviews from around the globe and has the three trade assurance things by Alibaba . But these laptops seem very tempting.

There is a seller named James Chen from Shenzhen baisili electronics co.ltd with a razer blade pro. He has 8 reviews all 5 stars and one 4 star. They’re all from different countries and different writing styles. Should I go for it? He also has the three badges and has a 4 years badge.

    • I looked at Baisili many times. I believe it’s a scam. You can try it with pick-up when you are in Shenzhen, otherwise I suggest better not. Notebooks are typically not cheap in China, so if you see a cheap notebook offer from China better stay away.

        • I was ask before. It’s a scam. When you see low price PCs ore laptops in China it’s usually a scam, they are not really cheap in China. USA is much cheaper.

    • Both are scams, I am 100% sure, you do not get what you see on the screen. If you look at the comments under their Facebook ads there are no receivers. Although I have seen some scam ads with lots of fake receivers.

  9. Hi. I read your tips to find out how to detect scammers. It states that scammers won’t offer PayPal as a payment option yet one of the websites listed as a scammer only uses PayPal!

    Reply
    • Well, scammers rarely use Paypal. But as you can see here, all those scams offer Paypal. I guess they will just withdraw the money daily so when Paypal finally closes their account their “losses” are small.
